Orthognathic Surgery
Here is a case that combined orthodontic treatment with jaw surgery, carried out by Dr. Natthanan Rujeerapaiboon (Dr. Gig) and our oral and maxillofacial surgery team.
- The patient came to us with these problems:
- The lower teeth closed over the upper teeth (crossbite)
- A lopsided lower jaw
- Severely crowded upper teeth

Some upper teeth were extracted to relieve the crowding and line the teeth up neatly. This was combined with lower jaw surgery to correct a long, protruding lower jaw and to reshape the chin so it suits the face. When treatment finished, the patient had a normal bite and a balanced face and smile.
